Wealth Management - Basic

The Wealth Management - Basic Certification is designed for entry-level roles in the wealth management and financial advisory business. The objective is to develop a strong foundation of investment concepts and products and understand the process of goal-based financial planning and asset allocation.

Those who complete the Wealth Management - Basic Certification can directly enroll into the Wealth Management - Advance certification, which is accredited by NiSM under Regulation 7(2) of the SEBI (Investment Advisers) Regulations, 2013.

The curriculum covers investment, insurance and leverage products and processes.

Online course fee – Rs 6,500/- plus applicable taxes.

The Program can be completed in self study in 60 days.

Leading banks, broking houses and mutual funds have made this certiifcation mandatory for identified categories of employees.

The registration for Wealth Management - Basic is valid for 2 years from the date of activation.

The Wealth Management - Basic program has a one-hour exam of multiple choice questions on concepts and applications. There is no negative marking.

The pass mark is 60%.The Wealth Management - Basic Certification exams will be held at NSE-IT Test centres across 200 locations

Operational Process

There are no pre-requisites for enrolling into the Wealth Management - Basic certification program.

Course Enrolment:
On successful registration, the candidate will get enrolled into the certification program and will get access to the online course within a day.
The workbook will be couriered to your registered address within 7 days.

Exam Enrolment:
Candidates will be allowed to register for the exam after 15 days from registration. The registration is valid for 2 years from the date of registration. So candidates can enroll into the exam anytime within this validity.

On successful completion of the Wealth Management - Basic exam, a certificate (CIEL will be the certifying authority) will be issued to the candidate with a validity of three years. Certificate will be issued subject to completion of the pre-requisites specified above.
The validity of the certificate is 3 years. Candidates will complete the continuing professional education or CPE requirements to keep their certificate valid.
Candidates will have to obtain 8 credits – i.e. complete 8 hours of online learning or attend 8-hours of classroom in a year to renew their certificate.

Wealth Management Certification Renewal

Your Wealth Management Certification - Basic has to be renewed every 3 year.

You can renew using one of the following two ways:

  1. 1. Recertification mode: Take a recertification assessment of 30 marks. Please click here to register for recertification assessment.
  2. 2. Knowledge enhancement mode: Subscribe and complete one online course from CIEL's online course library for WM Basic Renewal. To view and subscribe to the online course library for WM Basic Renewal please click here.

Instructions for Recertification mode:

  1. 1. Passing cut-off for recertification assessment is 50%.
  2. 2. Certificate will be renewed for a period of three years from the date of expiry of the existing certificate, only once the candidate passes the examination.
  3. 3. If the candidate is unable to pass the examination, he may take a re-attempt of the examination by completing the same procedure. Alternatively, he/she can choose to opt for the Knowledge enhancement mode.Maximum 2 attempts for recertification mode allowed after which one has to opt for the Knowledge enhancement mode.

Instructions for Knowledge enhancement mode:

  1. 1. The candidate must subscribe and complete all modules and quizzes of the chosen course to be eligible for renewal of certificate within a period of one month of subscribing to the course.
  2. 2. If one course was chosen in a particular year for the renewal, the candidate cannot choose the same course the next year for renewal.
